Dekoratif Eserler Koleksiyonu

Vitrine

19. yüzyılın ikinci yarısı

Sabancı Üniversitesi Sakıp Sabancı Müzesi (Emirgan, İstanbul, Türkiye)

This vitrine is part of a walnut dining room set in the Renaissance Revival style, consisting of a dining table, fourteen chairs, two sideboards, and a vitrine. It has the same iconographic features as the sideboards with the inventory numbers 400-0097 and 400-0098.

The vitrine consists of a three-tiered main section with glass doors, and a drawer underneath. In the centre of the pediment on top, there is an oval form surrounded by foliated scrolls and floral motifs. The edges of the glazed body of the vitrine are decorated with rows of adjacent carved leaves. The circular motif in the centre of the drawer is surrounded by foliated scrolls, and flanked by acanthus motifs on either side. All four of the vitrine’s legs are shaped like lion’s paws, in keeping with the other pieces of the dining room set.
