"It [assemblage] has to do with the unlikely marriage of recognizable forms. In most of the scupltures, several objects are combined. For example, Personage (1971) is based on an almond; I enlarged it fifteen times its size in plaster to an intermediate stage-at this critical stage, I reworked the plaster, then I added the head, which is based on a small stone."
