The kıt’as (calligraphic compositions) in this album consist of couplets from Muhammad b. Said el-Busirî’s (d. 1296?) Arabic poem in praise of the Prophet Muhammad. They are written as one line of sülüs followed by two lines of nesih and another line of sülüs. The colophon is written diagonally in rıka script inside the rectangular space to the left of the lines of nesih in the last kıt’a and reads, ‘ Seyyid Hasan Rıza, dust of the feet of the saints 1299’. The margins of the pages are decorated with vassale collage in dark green paper. The rectangular spaces next to the short lines of text are undecorated. The ruled borders and stops are gilded. The plain binding of dark chestnut coloured leather is original.
