About the Archive
Sabancı University Sakıp Sabancı Museum's Emirgân Archive consists of photographs of Emirgân and its environs dating from the beginning of the 1900s. Depicting daily life, steam ferries, waterfront palaces and wooden houses, they provide detailed documentation of a Bosphorus village in the 20th century. Family photographs and portraits belonging to people who lived here display the way of life of Emirgân's inhabitants.
