he illuminated opening spread of the manuscript consists of the Fatiha surah and the first four verses of the Bakara surah.  The fill motifs in the broad lobed border and other parts of the composition consist of polychrome flowers, rumi motifs and stems on lapis blue and gold grounds. The surah headings are written in white rıka script on a plain gold ground. Large illuminated rosettes in the margin mark each section of ten verses, five pages or twenty pages. The illumination is unexceptional. The chestnut coloured leather binding without flap is original. Each cover is decorated with a tooled medallion with pendants and cornerpieces inside a narrow border. During repairs carried out in the 20th century the doublures were lined with silver flecked paper.
