Kitap Sanatları ve Hat Koleksiyonu

Verses from the Hac Surah

1335 civarı

Sabancı Üniversitesi Sakıp Sabancı Müzesi (Emirgan, İstanbul, Türkiye)

The text is written in reyhani script on two sheets of dark cream coloured, thick, sized paper. There are  gold florets between the lines and marginal rosettes illuminated in gold and blue, some circular and  others tear-shaped. The florets do not mark verse endings. In the centre of the tear-shaped rosette is a  large gold flower. The folios seem to have been removed from a Koran copied either by the renowned  Ilkhanid calligrapher Argun Kamili (d. 1345?) or by a later calligrapher writing in his style.
