Since the early 1990s, Niels Borch Jensen has collaborated with Georg Baselitz on printmaking projects, and in this talk, he will focus on original printmaking practices. Jensen will explore the distinctive features of original printmaking and discuss why traditional techniques, which may appear outdated, remain appealing to contemporary artists. Moderated by artist and academic Yasemin Nur Erkalır, this conversation will delve into how the constraints of printmaking encourage creative experimentation and innovation, while highlighting the enduring significance of this medium in contemporary art.
The talk will be followed by a printmaking studio session led by Niels Borch Jensen and Yasemin Nur Erkalır from the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, at Akbank Sanat on 1 December 2024 (Sunday).
The talk will be conducted in English, with simultaneous translation into Turkish.
