In this talk, Niels Borch Jensen—who has collaborated with Georg Baselitz on printmaking since the early 1990s—will explore the fascinating world of original printmaking. He will address the defining features of an original print, and the ongoing appeal of traditional and seemingly obsolete printmaking techniques among contemporary artists. By examining these elements, the talk will reveal how the constraints of printmaking can foster creative experimentation and innovation, illustrating why this medium continues to captivate and inspire artists today.
The talk will be followed by a printmaking studio session led by Niels Borch Jensen and Yasemin Nur Erkalır from the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, at Akbank Sanat on 1 December 2024 (Sunday).
The talk will be conducted in English, with simultaneous translation into Turkish.
